Here at Staff Partners Mental Health, we have an exciting opportunity for a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist or Experienced Staff Grade in CAMHS to work within an NHS service in Birmingham.
Job Description:
Experienced CAMHS psychiatrist responsible for leading the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of complex mental health conditions in children and adolescents. They would work within MDT and support junior staff and allied professionals. The role involves collaboration with families, schools, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive care. They would be encouraged to contribute to service development and quality improvement. Good communication and clinical skills are essential. The position requires expertise in child and adolescent psychiatry and a commitment to improving young people’s mental health outcomes. Would also cross- cover colleagues when on AL.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead an MDT of Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, OT and Specialty Dr’s
- Active role in service and development activities
- Participate in Governance and Service Line meetings
- Taking clinical responsibility for patients
- Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician
- Supervising the process of referrals and admissions
- Take part in medical related audits
Job Requirements:
- GMC with a licence to practise
- Approved Clinician status
- Section 12 approval
- MBBS qualification
- MRCPsych (if desirable)
