Acute Care based in mental health – General Adult Consultant ASAP start.
Acute Care Consultant required to work on a on a 17 bedded male inpatient ward and have direct responsibility (RC) for all patients on that ward. Locum is to have CCT with AC Status and Section 12(2) approval.
The team consists of:
1 x WTE Ward Manager (band 7)
3 x WTE Deputy Ward Manager (band 6)
12.9 x Band 5 RMN
10.3 x Band 3 HCSWThe ward receives input from the OT, Physiotherapy and Psychology departments, Junior medical staff attached on a rotational basis dependant on availability in the training rota.
The post holder would be expected to work within the framework of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.
Clinical management for all male inpatients on the mental heath Ward, including covering the Mental Health Act related roles as Responsible Clinician for the duration of their inpatient stay.
Attend the daily Acute Care Meeting to discuss matters of patient flow, delayed discharges and potential discharges. The meeting is held every morning and tends to last 15-30 minutes.
Management of complex cases in collaboration with HTT and the community CMHTs.
Clinical leadership within Acute Care setting.
Develop care plan and treatment formulation, guidance on evidence based treatment and effectiveness.
Mental Health Act 1983 assessments when required.
Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010 implementation in acute care setting.
Multi-disciplinary, multiagency and partnership working.
