Here at Staff Partners Mental Health, we have an exciting opportunity for a Permanent Consultant Psychiatrist in Forensic for an established private hospital based in Romford.
Job Description:
This role is a full-time permanent position and you will be working for men over the age of 50. Care is provided over two wards, both of which are 13 bedded male units and offer an age appropriate environment for those who also have a mental health/personality disorder and/or dementia, in need of physical health care needs. Responsibilities:
- Roles within this job family are dedicated to providing high quality clinical care for patients referred to and using the services of the hospital. Works closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that clients receive a holistic and person-centric care and treatment programme based on the recovery model.
- Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk
- reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu.
- Provide expert psychiatric assessments and treatment for a diverse patient population.
- Lead and manage patient care within your specialty, ensuring the highest standards of care.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, therapists, and nursing staff.
- Engage in clinical governance and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in on-call rotations, ensuring continuous high-quality care.
- Foster relationships with external stakeholders and maintain a network of professional contacts.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Commit to ongoing professional development and meet Revalidation requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Full GMC registration with specialist registration in psychiatry.
- Extensive experience in Forensic psychiatry.
- Strong knowledge of Clinical Governance and adherence to regulatory frameworks.
- Successful completion of an enhanced DBS check, provided by Suttons Manor.
- The post holder will hold a CCST / CCT (or equivalent) in the relevant areas of Psychiatry and will have experience of working in inpatient settings with people with significant mental health difficulties.
