Staff Partners are looking for a Lead Speech and Language Therapist (equivalent to Band 8a experience) to join a supportive therapy team based at a Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit in London.
The unit comprises of a 19-bed Level 1 Highly Specialist Cognitive-Behavioural ward and an 18-bed Level 2 Neurorehabilitation ward. Both wards specialise in providing expert treatment to patients with physical and cognitive impairments resulting from acquired or traumatic brain injuries.
As part of an enthusiastic and experienced multidisciplinary team including neurology, neuropsychiatry, neuropsychology, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and social work, you'll play a crucial role in delivering a highly specialised Speech and Language Therapy service.

Role Details:
- Full-time position: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the Speech and Language team, ensuring the effective delivery of specialised SLT services.
- Manage a complex clinical caseload, prioritising effectively.
- Conduct advanced specialist assessments and treatments for communication and swallowing disorders.
- Take a leading role in diagnosis, problem formulation, and rehabilitation planning within the MDT.
- Implement and lead MDT service developments.
- Evaluate intervention effectiveness using reliable outcome measures and adhere to UKROC Database measures.
- Ensure clear and timely communication across all levels, including patients, families, MDT, and external agencies.
- Develop and deliver in-service education and training programs for the wider MDT.
Requirements:
- HCPC registration.
- Postgraduate training in dysphagia.
- Ability to independently manage a complex caseload with proven expertise in neurorehabilitation.
