Here at Staff Partners Mental Health, we have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Psychiatry for an established private hospital based in Manchester.
Job Description and Key Responsibilities:
This role is a full-time permanent position and you will be working in a 15 bed Mixed Acute ward. The service is an acute mental health unit for adult male and female patients offering a 24-hour admission service to support local NHS services and PICU wards. The ethos of the acute ward is to provide support in a crisis and offer therapeutic engagement during the in-patient stay. The ward is situated within the grounds of the hospital supporting patients who present with mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, personality disorder, depression, bipolar disorder and other diagnoses. For some patients, the ward will be their first admission to a mental health ward and the MDT will support them to overcome crisis and become well enough to be discharged into the community, whether this be home or to support living. The MDT consists of a Responsible Clinician (RC), Specialty Doctor, Ward Manager, Occupational Therapist, the Nursing Team and Psychology team and the goal of the MDT is to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of patients who come to the ward.The post is supported by a full time Specialty Doctor or Advanced Practitioner and the post holder will be working within a full Multidisciplinary Team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead an MDT of Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, OT and Specialty Dr’s
- Active role in service and development activities
- Participate in Governance and Service Line meetings
- Taking clinical responsibility for patients
- Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician
- Supervising the process of referrals and admissions
- Take part in medical related audits
Job Requirements:
- GMC with a licence to practise
- CCT/Specialist Registration with the GMC
- Approved Clinician status
- Section 12 approval
- MRCPsych
- MBSS qualification
