Here at Staff Partners Mental Health, we have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry for an established private hospital based in Manchester
Job Description and Key Responsibilities:
This role is a part time (22.5hrs per week) permanent position and you will be working in a 15 bed Eating Disorders service and Outpatient clinic.The Consultant Psychiatrist is part of, and provides the clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team that aspires to provide excellent bespoke care to enable our patients to fulfil their recovery goals and work towards discharge. The Consultant is responsible for leading the medical care of patients in their allocated caseload (up to ten patients), supervising their allocated Speciality Doctor and leading the multidisciplinary team.
The role holder will have a case load of up to ten inpatients on the ward. There is an additional Consultant Psychiatrist who covers the ward as well.
Clinical duties include leading ward rounds, CPA meetings, risk meetings and care plan meetings and leading treatment pathways for each patient. The role holder will be required to provide reports for CPA meetings and for the Hospital Managers, Mental Health Tribunal and Commissioners. Additionally the role holder will be required to participate in site wide meetings including Clinical Governance and to take an active role in liaising with outside agencies promoting and developing the service.
The role holder will be required to participate in the Consultant on call rota.
Responsibilities:
- Lead an MDT of Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, OT and Specialty Dr’s
- Active role in service and development activities
- Participate in Governance and Service Line meetings
- Taking clinical responsibility for patients
- Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician
- Supervising the process of referrals and admissions
- Take part in medical related audits
Job Requirements:
- GMC with a licence to practise
- CCT/Specialist Registration with the GMC
- Approved Clinician status
- Section 12 approval
- MRCPsych
- MBSS qualification
