Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our clients team at leading acute hospital in London. This is an ongoing locum role, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychological assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients in acute hospital settings.

  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and other evidence-based approaches.

  • Work collaboratively with medical and nursing staff to ensure comprehensive patient care.

  • Develop and implement psychological care pathways and interventions tailored to the needs of patients in acute settings.

  • Offer psychological support to patients and their families, addressing emotional and psychological challenges related to hospitalization.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to case discussions.

  • Provide training, supervision, and support to junior staff and trainees.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent).

  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

  • Proven experience in working with a caseload in NHS or private sectors, preferably in acute hospital settings.

  • Strong knowledge of psychological assessment and treatment methods.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with the latest research and best practices in clinical psychology.
