Here at Staff Partners Mental Health, we have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Psychiatry for an established private hospital based in Cheshire.
Job Description and Key Responsibilities:
This role is a full-time permanent position. The hospital, a private hospital has 72 beds spread across 6 wards. There are 2 wards providing a level 2 rehabilitation service for women with high support needs. Another ward is an acute psychiatric ward for women. The other 3 wards provide care to men in specialist rehabilitation unit with ASD, low secure ward and a rehabilitation ward for older men with complex mental health needs and physical health comorbidities.As a Consultant Psychiatrist some of your key responsibilities will include management of complex cases, formulating care plans and treatments for individual needs of service users, and guiding on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness.
The team consists currently of 4.5 consultants, and you will deliver clinical care to a dedicated caseload. You will be supported by a practice nurse and an enhanced GP service to meet patients’ physical healthcare needs. You will have support from a dedicated supervisor and a medical secretary team. Specialty doctor cover is available for the acute ward.
Responsibilities:
- Lead an MDT of Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, OT and Specialty Dr’s
- Active role in service and development activities
- Participate in Governance and Service Line meetings
- Taking clinical responsibility for patients
- Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician
- Supervising the process of referrals and admissions
- Take part in medical related audits
Job Requirements:
- GMC with a licence to practise
- CCT/Specialist Registration with the GMC
- Approved Clinician status
- Section 12 approval
- MRCPsych
- MBSS qualification
