Here at Staff Partners Mental Health, we have an exciting opportunity for a Specialty Dr in Adult Psychiatry to work within an established private hospital in Lancashire.
Job Description:
This role is a full-time permanent position, you will be working on their Male LSU. The hospital is a 90-bedded hospital offering rehabilitation and recovery (R&R) and secure services for adult males. We support people with a mental health condition and/or a personality disorder.
You will work within a well-established and cohesive multi-disciplinary team.
As a Specialty Doctor you will work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist to provide continuous medical cover on a daily basis to the patients on the ward. Alongside the Consultant, you will care for up to 28 patients, referred to the unit usually from local NHS trusts. During working hours, you will be responsible for patients and reviewing their mental/ physical well-being.
Assessment, appropriate investigation, diagnosis and treatment under Consultant supervision for each patients and reassessed at a frequency appropriate to their individual clinical needs and sufficient to monitor changes and make timely modifications to the treatment plan.
We strive to provide high quality care to all of our patients and received a rating of Outstanding in all five areas by the CQC in August 2019.
Our treatments are recovery focused and provides by an experienced multidisciplinary team. We offer a range of specific therapeutic programs and a range of occupational therapy activities, both hospital and community based.
Key responsibilities:
Provide high quality treatment under the supervision of a Consultant
Weekly ward rounds and MDT meetings
Participate in Governance and Service Line meetings
Audit medical services and ensure compliance with professional guidelines
Assess referrals and mental examinations of patients
Job Requirements:
- GMC with a licence to practise
- Recent experience in Forensic Psychiatry
- Section 12 approval (Desirable)
- MRCPsych (Desirable)
- MBSS qualification
